Live at the Roundhouse was recorded in 1975, at a concert the Pink Fairies gave in London which featured all five members who had ever played in the band. The sound quality is impressive, especially for the mid-70s, and the band is in peak form, with guitarists Larry Wallis and Paul Rudolph trading fiery leads and the twin drums of Russell Hunter and Twink driving the band. Considering it is such a landmark recording in the band's history then, it is rather mystifying why the album is so short and so padded with unnecessary covers. The versions of "City Kids" and "Uncle Harry's Last Freakout" captured here are definitive, bursting with ferocious energy. How, then, could the set not include the Fairies' most famous song, "Do It," or their second most famous, "The Snake"? The covers, which include the Velvet Underground's "I'm Waiting for the Man," are nice to hear, but it would have even more of a treat to hear this once-in-a-lifetime lineup tear into some of the Fairies' most classic tracks. (And why only a single album? Considering the band's affinity for stretching out their songs onstage, a double album, especially for the CD reissue, would have been spectacular ) A worthwhile release, especially for fans, but not nearly as stunning as it could have been.

1. City Kids
2. I'm Waiting For The Man
3. Lucille
4. Uncle Harry's Last Freakout
5. Going Down
6. As Long As The Price Is Right
7. Waiting For The Lightning To Strike
8. Can't Find The Lady
9. No Second Chance
10. Talk Of The Devil
11. I Think It's Coming Back Again
12. Do It 77
13. Psychedelic Punkeroo
14. Enter The Diamonds
Superb Pink Fairies CD to have, one of those two-on-one releases.First segment is a five song/45-minute one off reunion gig that the Fairies played with the original line-up in 1975.The sound mix on "City Kids","Waiting For The Man","Lucille","Uncle Harry's Last Freakout" and "Going Down" simply couldn't be better. The next six tunes labeled as 'Previously Unreleased' is so-so,with the best track being "Waiting For The Lightning To Strike"(would make a good Alice Cooper tune). The disc closes out with a three song EP titled 'Twink And The Fairies',circa 1977 I believe and it's a bit funky. It's Pink Fairies drummer Twink carrying on with his own project.Highly recommended.
