2nd album by the cult blues-rock band from Greece but unfortunately one of lower-standard from its predecessor. Socrates follow the same formula as before, mixing their blues-hard rock influences and carrying out a straight-forward blues rock act, but again the production and sound mixing is awful, maybe even worse than before. The individual organ solo's are superb as always, especially Spathas' guitar playing, but they lack substance. The songs are not bad actually, but the whole project sounds like an amateur band playing at your local pub. For Taste of Conium the band replaces historic drummer Boukouvalas for another classic Greek drummer Yorgos Tradalidis and also hire a 2nd guitarist, talented Gus Dukakis, making their sound a touch heavier. There are good songs here like "Door of the dream" and overall the songs are o.k. but are not great due to lack of originality and bad production. A poor version of the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction" is featured here called "Wild Satisfaction" but it gets so boring with the meaningless solo's by all artists which last 13 minutes. For fans of Socrates alone.
