This is the long awaited CD release of the best that Legs Diamond has to offer. Legs Diamond was a hot hard rock band out of L.A. in the late 70s, although they never reached the commercial success they were shooting for. "A Diamond Is A Hard Rock" was their second release and features the best the band had to offer. Roger Romeo's guitar work is straighforward, powerful and dominates the sound of the band. Rick Sanford has an unmistakable voice. There is not a bad song on the album which ranges from the hard rocking title track to "Woman", which might loosely be described as a power ballad. If you like late-seventies hard rock you have to have this one.

A Diamond Is A Hard Rock is a strong second album from Legs Diamond. While not up to the standard set by the raucous debut disc, this 1977 release is packed with riffs and strong vocal power. While sales of this album were poor, that is no indication of the wealth of hard rockin' cuts on offer. Legs Diamond simply didn't have the big buck promotional backing of their label to bust out big. Check out the group's early work... this is hot '70's rock 'n' roll! Unfortunately this was the end of quality material from the Legs brigade.
