You only to have see the label The Answer's album comes out on to know what you're going to get. Albert Productions are the home of rock gods AC/DC and one listen to Rise suggests The Answer want to mix it with the best of them.
Screaming vocals a la Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant, teeth-jarring guitar solos, bass playing that curdles your lower intestine and drums that drill through your head.
From the album's opener, Under The Sky, the band pound through a relentless paean to hard rock that puts jokers like The Darkness to shame. Eddie Van Halen guitar riffs abound, particularly on Never Too Late, while the material veers towards the heavier side of blues on songs like No Questions Asked and Leavin' Today.
"Cock rock", this sort of stuff used to be called back in the 1970s, and there's no reason why it shouldn't be called that now. Totally unreconstructed rock music, but frankly when it's this good, who the hell cares.
The Answer support Whitesnake and The Who this summer.

Fine debut album from The Answer. Superb vocals and a blues rock section make this a fine entrance into the world of rock. Hopefully the band will stay around for awhile and we hear what more they can offer. hey play a classic early hard rock in a Led Zep, Free or Deep Purple style (minus keyboards).
